Basically, Grip Clip is a nail trimmer with several value additions. Apart from playing the role of a conventional nail cutter, this product comes with a couple of other handy features including a nail clip catcher, a magnifying glass and a light. The product was launched pretty recently, in October 2017 through their official website.
Features of Grip Clip
Let’s take a look at the most notable features associated with the Grip Clip.
It comes with a convenient grip that is made with nonslip rubber material
Handy magnifying glass that can zoom up to 3X
It has an integrated light to assist precise cutting
The cutter is made out of stainless steel
Useful clip catches that leave no mess
Can be used even by those who have stiff hands
Although some of these features might become handy when clipping finger nails, when it comes to toenails, it can be a different story. In other words, we prefer simpler designs with better efficiency.
What we like and what we don’t like
Usually, we don’t expect miracles from nail clippers. Their purpose is to clip the nails accurately no matter what the fancy advertising lines their manufacturers come up with. As long as the clipper clips the nails precisely and leave no mess to deal with, we consider that as a good product. However, modern nail clippers (including the Grip Clip) come with several advancements (although they are not completely new to the market) compared to conventional products. For now, we are going to focus on the Grip Clip and assess what we like and what we don’t like.
What we like
The grip of this nail clipper is a decent value addition as we believe. It can make the handling very convenient to the users. To a certain extent, this enhanced grip can offer support to those who are with stiff hands. Nevertheless, we don’t want to say that this is a total nail clipping solution for those who have severe flexibility issues.
The magnification glass provided with offers a considerable assistance to see the nails clearly. However, it cannot offer much support when it comes to clipping toe nails. Therefore, we prefer to call Grip Clipper as a fingernail cutter.
The stainless steel cutter of this product is pretty sharp and durable. Its efficiency is hardly questionable particularly when it comes to clipping fingernails. However, if you don’t need the assistance of the magnifying glass and the light, you can consider removing them and use for the purpose of cutting toe nails.
What we don’t like
We mainly dislike the price of this nail clipper. Particularly, if you don’t want to use the magnifying glass and the light (and still want rubber grips), there are plenty of other affordable options to consider.
We don’t see this product in local stores yet and that can be one strong reason for this relatively expensive price tag. Also, we believe that this limited availability can restrict the freedom of purchase. The same reason (limited availability) keeps us guessing if this is a test marketed item.
Should you buy Grip Clip?
We don’t believe that Grip Clip is the best option if you intend to clip toe nails as well. There are affordable options in the market with simpler yet effective functionality. Therefore, we suggest you to consider other products before committing the final decision.
The total price of Grip Clip is $20.99 ($19.99 + $1 for web service). They don’t charge you anything for shipping. The package includes a set of tweezers too. However, we believe that this product is on the expensive side.
