So, if you wish to dig (mine) and build (craft) using a Chromebook, this guideline is just for you.
What to consider before playing Minecraft on Chromebook
Before you dream about playing Minecraft for Chromebook, you will need to be clear about a couple of things. We have organized this guideline considering three main aspects.
In the first segment we will be guiding you to select an appropriate Chromebook for Minecraft. The points covered in this segment will be highly useful when determining the minimum hardware requirements mostly.
In the second segment, we will discuss the most convenient way of getting Minecraft installed on your Chromebook without causing any trouble. We believe that even a novice Chromebook user, by himself, will be able to install Minecraft after following this guideline.
In the last segment we will be discussing how to play the Minecraft for Chromebook. In addition to that, we will be discussing a couple of important points related to the combination of Chromebook and Minecraft.
Choose an appropriate Minecraft Chromebook
Surprisingly, a large number of computer users purchase Chromebook just to play Minecraft. In fact, you can get an idea about the Minecraft + Chromebook enthusiasm just by reading the forums and social media groups. Many users leave comments about the experiences they had with their Chromebook models, give advices to other users, share tips and tricks and dedicate a lot of time on things related to the combination we mentioned. Particularly, the younger generation of Chromebook users consider playing Minecraft on a portable computer like Chromebook to be a norm these days (Chromebooks are becoming popular and they are available in almost every corner).
Most of these portable computers are perfectly compatible with Minecraft and they don’t cause any trouble even in the long run. In general, Chromebooks come with onboard graphics processing units and some people may wonder if such hardware configuration is enough to play a game like Minecraft. The truth is, however, that Minecraft can run smoothly on the Chromebooks that have onboard Intel Graphic Chips (HD). Interestingly, the onboard graphic processing units are powerful enough to facilitate the required frame rates by Minecraft.
Never models of Chromebooks facilitate an impressive graphic performance (at least to play Minecraft smoothly). There are some Chromebooks that facilitate a frame rate of 60. Highly popular and powerful Chromebook models such as Asus Flip 2 has a superb processing speed for a portable computer (with a Core m3 Processor). This performance is further backed by a random access memory of 4 GB. Such configuration, without a doubt, is good enough to run Minecraft without the slightest lag.
If you intend to purchase a new Chromebook and play Minecraft on it (at least occasionally), you must be smart enough to check a couple of things as mentioned below.
Prefer an Intel Processor
Identifying an Intel-powered Chromebook is not that difficult; all you have to do is to look for the Intel Sticker as a guarantee. We have noticed that both MediaTek and ARM processors are not 100% compatible to run Minecraft. Although even an Intel Celeron processor can run Minecraft smoothly, if you plan to purchase a new Chromebook, it is always better to go for a Core i3 or Core i5. Such upgrade will offer you a super-smooth operation and multitasking like a breeze!
So, if you have already purchased a Chromebook, you must Google it with the model and brand name to find if it is powered by an Intel Celeron Processor at the least. Some of the ARM powered Chromebooks, however, can be used to run Minecraft after some complex system changes. We still insist you to use an Intel-powered Chromebook to be totally free from the potential issues.
Finding a Chromebook which is powered by an Intel Processor is not that hard. In fact, the vast majority of the popular Chromebook models come with Intel processors. However, as we mentioned, it is always better to check for the Intel Sticker and be 100% sure about the compatibility.
Those who have Chromebooks that are powered with other processors may use this guideline to play Minecraft and yet they must be aware the chances for errors.
