///Common Problems With Phones and How To Know If It Needs Repairing

Ever since the conception of the mobile phone made possible by Motorola in 1973, our world would clearly never be the same again. From starting out as a more convenient form of communication without the requirement of wires connecting to a wall, talking to a person from the other side of the world has been made easier, faster, and cheaper.

Over time, the purpose of mobile phones have certainly upgraded and we have ultimately become more dependent on these small devices for our daily tasks. That’s why when these multi-functional devices break down on us, it’s setback certainly causes us a lot of trouble. So before these problems become hard to fix, here are common problems with phones:

  1. Cracked screen

Back in the early 2000s, phones simply had a small screen that comprised only a 1/4 of the cellphone’s body. Nowadays, however, the screen takes over the entirety of the phone from top to bottom, allowing more maneuverability for the phone user. That’s why it comes as no surprise that a cracked screen is now the most common problem faced by phone users.

A cracked phone screen can be caused by drop damage, simply being hit by a sharp object, or when applied with greater pressure than what it can usually handle. Depending on the extent of the damage, a cracked screen can be as simple as a nuisance, to a total disruption—disabling you from using your phone to its full function. This should be a telltale sign that cell phone repair is a must for this case.

  1. Wet damage

These days, an average person can’t go anywhere without their phone. People take their phones with them even if they’re just going to the shower, swimming in the pool or the beach, and even while cooking. With the presence of water and a loose grip, this will usually end up in a disaster such as accidentally dropping the phone into these bodies of water. Unless your phone is water-resistant then there’s nothing to worry about,  but if your smartphone doesn’t have that unique feature, then you’re about to face the troubles of a wet damage.

As soon as the phone hits the water, it’s crucial that you take it out as fast as possible and turn it off immediately. Keeping it turned on will only cause a short circuit, completely damaging your phone in the process. If bringing the phone to a repair center is quite impossible for the meantime, then it’s important that you take out its back cover, the batteries, the sim card, and the MicroSD in order to fully allow the insides of the phone to easily dry up. Then place your phone inside a ziploc bag with packs of silica gel in order for the moisture to be absorbed until you can take it to a proper technician who can look into your phone and check if there are any further damages caused by the moisture.

  1. Camera lens scratches

Protecting the phone screen is easy since screen guards or protectors can be easily bought in electronic shops where they sell phone accessories. However, lens protectors are either hard to find or basically nonexistent. Most people keep their phones in their pockets or in their bags wherein it can collide with objects inside such as keys and pens wherein it can potentially damage your camera lens by leaving dents or scratches. This may not be evident until you start taking photos and you notice how there’s certain blur points in your shots wherein it seems to be consistent with its placement. While this may seem like a minor problem, it can ultimately damage the quality of your photo for such a small defect.

If the damage seems to be obvious in any lighting, whether dark or bright, then maybe taking it to a professional technician for a lens replacement is your best option at this point. Lens replacement may cost you money, however, not as much as when you need a camera sensor to be replaced.
